Our Amish-built HEAVY DUTY BOARD & BATTEN sheds and garages have a rustic look that blends nicely with any property. These buildings happen to be one of our personal favorites; you just have to see the ‘beefiness’ of them in person to appreciate the craftsmanship. It is also a great choice for a ‘natural’ all wood siding with no preservatives, composites, or chemicals. The siding consists of board & batten-style rough cut Eastern white pine and the interiors are framed out with a heavy duty oak post and beam framing plus an incredible 2×8 tongue and groove pine plank floor on top of 4×4 pressure-treated floor joists which are on top of 4x4 pressure-treated runners. They also include handcrafted wooden gable end vents & heavy duty barn style doors with long black strap hinges and a black latch. The builder of these sheds started out with building only heavy duty horse barns and then added sheds and garages. He maintained and incorporated a lot of the 'horse barn' specifications and this is what sets them apart from any other shed we offer.
The heavy duty storage sheds are available in several styles: A-frame, Quaker, Dutch Barn, Victorian and the ‘Extra Storage’ shed which has a 5′ high attic storage space accessed via a hole in the ceiling floor using your own step ladder. The super long lasting, no maintenance, 28 gauge painted metal roofing over purlins is standard! You may also want to choose an optional colored or clear stain, or just leave the building natural, and over time, it will weather to a nice silvery barn gray.
MONEY SAVING TIP: Love the board & batten exterior siding but don’t need all the heavy duty features listed above? We also offer any standard shed with standard specs (2×4 framing, LP ProStruct floor o/2x4 PT joists, shingled roof w/ choice of several stains included!) in rough cut board & batten siding with metal T-braces. This standard duty version is just a 15% upcharge over our LP Smartside shed prices. Get the look you want AND save money!
